CF Signs Management Deal - June 10, 2008

The Cartoon Factory is proud to announce that we have entered into a management agreement with Backstage Productions. Backstage is a Columbia, SC based management firm that represents several other SC based artists. We had reached a point where logistically we couldn't keep up with the promotion and personal contacts that we needed to maintain as the bands popularity has steadily increased, so this should not only maintain but help push us to the next level while letting us do what we do best...rock you! Our early interactions with Backstage have already opened new doors and venues for us and we look forward to growing with them in the future.

"(I Coulda Been A) Heartthrob", a previously unreleased Chuck-penned tune that was recorded for a Delilahs album that was never released, will be included on Futurama Records newest Compilation Disc, NOW HEAR THIS Volume 2. The song was recorded shortly before the Delilahs disbanded in 1998 and before the formation of The CF. cool archival stuff for the CF, Chuck and/or Delilahs fan.The NHT2 disc is slated for an April Release.

Recording Underway - February 16, 2007

The band has started laying down tracks for the new CD. 12 new songs have been written, Chuck and Bobby have both put down rhythm guitar tracks and Skippy and Joseph are currently working on the bass and drum parts, so the project is officially underway. The CD is to be tentatively titled "revolution", and is slated for a Spring 2007 release. It's been 5 years since the last full CD, so this one should be special. The band has spoken with several "big-name" producers/mixers to work on the project and although nothing is finalized, we expect to make an announcement soon.

New CD in the Works & News - August 9, 2006

I know, FINALLY! Got bunches of new songs written and plan to go in the studio within the next few weeks and lay down acoustic demos so we can start working em out to record. This is the first stage of the recording process. I will probably keep a recording diary here or on our myspace page. (if you haven't joined our friends list yet, what're ya waitin for?!!?) We will be taking an indefinite amount of time off from playing live to devote to the new CD. As the lineup is in a restructuring process, it seemed like the perfect time to get the new project together. I kept waiting on a lineup to stabilize, but if I waited on that any longer, it could be 2050 before the thing was done! New Lead guitarist Bobby Nipper is very similar to Matt in talent and although their styles differ somewhat, I think Bobby will be a perfect fit personally and musically. Although (real) job concerns precipatated a move to Washington, DC, Matt remains a member of the CF family and will probably still contribute to the disc in some way. Original Bassist Chip Anderson has rejoined the band after a legnthy sabbatical due to personal and health issues and should bring some stability to that slot that we haven't had since Chip had to step aside. I am THRILLED to have Chip back on board! The drum slot hasn't been filled as of yet, but we do have a possible prospect in mind, so we'll see how that goes. That's it for now, see ya soon.
P&L,
-Chuck

Worldwide Distribution! - May 30, 2006

Our Label, Futurama Records, thru it's connections has recently agreed to a deal that gives us worldwide distribution. What this means is that basically, you can now walk into almost any store in the world and purchase our music! The deal only guarantees us access, not stock, so we will likely be a special order item most places, but you can get any of our CD's present and future at your local store wherever you are. Just go in and tell em you'd like them to order the Cartoon Factory CD for you and they can get it done! Cool, huh?

While "Monkey Girl" seems to have peaked at #24 on the GarageBand.com Poerpop Charts, it just keeps on picking up Listener's Choice Awards. It was named "Most Original Track" for the 4th Time, and "Best Lyrics" for the 3rd Time! It has also picked up "Best Bassline" and "Best Guitar" Awards as well as being featured as a "Track of the Day"! It has remained in the top 50 for almost 2 monthes already. Our followup, "Hopeless" hasn't charted as well as we'd hoped for (hovering in mid 70's) but has picked up a weekly award for "Most Rocking Song" and will be featured as a "Track of the Day" on April 23rd.
